Set Your Table With Flair--Easter in the Countryside

Hello!  Thank you so much for visiting!

When I was a younger woman, I wanted a life in the fast lane.  As age (and wisdom, frankly) crept in, my ideals completely changed.  Life is better slow-paced; taking the time to breathe it all in, reflect, savor every moment, enjoy a lazy reverie, or to smell the roses, so to speak.  In this setting, my goal was to emulate that feel with a setting you might find in a country farmhouse or a quaint cottage in the French countryside.  Aaaah, a girl can dream!  :)
I hope you enjoy the post.

I began my setting with this tablecloth. For me, nothing says French country like toile, and I loved the rustic appeal of the cream and brown.

I placed these dark brown espresso placemats next.

Next, came these cream plates (if you read my blog, you may have seen these before, ha ha; but I love them because they are so versatile).

On top of the cream plates, I placed dark brown saucers.

At each setting, I placed one of my pre-made nests.

The corresponding coffee cups came next,

followed by a small clear flute.

At each setting, I placed a tan napkin adorned with one of these rustic napkin holders, and casually-set flatware.

Shown here.

Next, I placed two pre-made vignettes (ornaments) in the center of the table.

To view the tutorial about how to make these, visit the post on my blog The Crafting Table here. In each ornament basket, I added mini Cadbury speckled robin's eggs.

Finally, in the middle of the table between the two vignette ornaments, I set clear candlesticks with cream colored tapers.

All set!

Here are a few closeups of the setting:

  2. First, if you don't wrap up and ship that fabulous settee to me right away, I'm not sure what I'll do! My GOODNESS...that thing is GORGEOUS!!! I just can't say enough about it! I just have to gush over it a minute and then perhaps the fact that I don't own it won't haunt my dreams! :-)

On to your beautiful table.....FABULOUS! The unexpected hues are JUST what make this the perfect Easter tablescape! The French-iness of it all is great! One simply cannot go wrong with toile, and you used it in a way that is knockin' my socks off! SERIOUSLY pretty and subtle...as pretty as they come!

GREAT post! I hope you are enjoying this tease of Spring. Have a great week!!!

  10. I like the toile tablecloth. I think I will try something similar, maybe blue toile. I'm very tempted to eat part of your bunny vignette. Cadbury eggs...sigh.
