Set Your Table With Flair--Masculine Yet Elegant Nautical For Father's Day

Hello, friends!  Thank you so kindly for stopping in to visit me today!  I hope everyone is enjoying the Summer thus far.  We are, save for the drought still prevalent here in California...hoping for an end to it soon!

I have always been a fan of waterways....maybe because we went to the beach often as I grew up.  Nevertheless, I wanted to combine subtle elements of nautical nuances for this Father's Day table.  Father's Day is just a few short days away, so I wanted to share an inspirational setting fit for the occasion.  I hope you enjoy the post!

I began the setting on a crisp hemstitched cloth in vibrant white.  For the setting, elements of white, gold, and navy were utilized.

Navy-edged placemats were placed with navy chargers

white plates,

and clock plates with gold detail.

I love these plates,

they remind me somewhat of those large compasses you might see on a very old vessel.

Crisp whites held by brassy rings sit perfectly beside the plate.

Knots of tied rope at the top of each place setting

hold flatware of gold.

A mug for coffee or tea,

combines with a pitcher for pouring.

A preppy creamer and sugar

are the perfect compliment to the mugs and pitcher.

A small handwritten note on the other side of the plate lets dad know how much you appreciate him.  ;)

No elaborate centerpiece,

but a small boxwood

handsomely dressed in navy ribbon

completes the setting.

    1. Thank you, Nora! I actually have used these for New Years; the plates come in a set of four varying plates...I've used the alternative plates before...the post is in the archives (winks slyly).

  3. It always amazes me (and inspires) how you take a few non-related items and create such beautiful tables! Do you just "see" things in the store and think, "Ahh! Someday I can do something with that!"??? I love this table setting. I am more determined than ever to eat outside more - once it stops raining. And raining. And raining!
