Set Your Table With Flair--A Candied Gingerbread Christmas

Hello, friends!!  I hope this post finds you all in good spirits and ready to celebrate the festive holiday season!  I absolutely love this time of year, don't you!?  Even with the public health and political climate of America being mired in uncertainty, I can't help to still feel that same sort of magic I feel this time of year.  I am a bona-fide, certified Christmas freak, lol.

I have been sharing that I am trying to go with a more whimsical theme this year to bring a sense of levity and fun, and today I am bringing that feeling to the table.  I hope you enjoy!

This table began with a wonderfully patterned topper by Ralph Lauren.  I love the conifer foliage and berries, so pretty!

A garland of green dances down the length of the table

with ornaments, candy cane-inspired candles and trees,

alongside antique stemware.

The centerpiece consists of a darling sled filled with striped ornaments and wintery faux Dusty Millers.

The foundation of the plate stack is a rattan charger followed by a simple red charger, a white plate, and lastly, a candy plate.

The plates feature such a fun peppermint candy pattern, love them!!

Each setting plays joyfully along with either a boy

or girl gingerbread flatware cozy.

A gingerbread spreader and dish ready for whipped butter,

compliments the table, as so do the sweet gingerbread boy and girl S&P shakers.

Completed tablescape.

Candied Gingerbread Goodness~Bringing Cheer ‘Round the House

Season's Greetings, all!!  Since the world as it is right now can seem quite dismal, this year I thought I would try to create a more whimsical aesthetic for Christmas.  I have decorated the house in a fun gingerbread/candyland theme...after all, I need a bit of levity and cheerful fun!  I am also taking it decidedly easier this year by repeating some decorations I used a few years back and refreshing them by adding some new elements.

Part two:

Bringing cheer ‘round the home

A few days ago in this post, I shared the decorations I made for the front doors and lanterns of the house.

Let’s go inside, shall we?

Main room/foyer:

Right inside to each side of the front doors are little bow-adorned wrought iron lanterns with candy cane candles.

In the foyer, I've added a large garland to the bookshelf,

also affixed with giant peppermint sticks like the ones featured on the doors and outdoor lanterns.

The arches leading to the hallway have been decorated with a combination of festive foliage and candy-themed ornaments.

Before:   Kind of blah.

Pretties added and ready to hang.

Much better.

Our girls’ bedroom.

Although I didn’t utilize Christmas linens, I made each girl a cute little elongated pillow in candy stripe to coordinate with the theme.

I made them by sewing simple seams on this darling extra-wide ribbon I found at Big Lots, and then filled them in.  I may add rickrack or pom pom (ball) fringe later.   What do you think?

Master bedroom:

A coordinating tree lives here.  By now, I am sure you note that I am being a bit of a rule breaker; I decided not to put down tree skirts unless presents are to be placed under the tree(s).   We open gifts as a family around the main tree, so this year, it is the only tree that will have a skirt.  This helps me keep things tidier, which is a must in a large family like mine.  I need all the help I can get, 😉

The mantle of the fireplace in the Master is adorned with a festive lighted garland.

Above the fireplace is a faux window decorated with a simple wreath.

On to the kitchen.

Cabinetry.

Kitchen island

I love this little gingerbread train, so cute!  A perfect centerpiece addition for my very old  charmingly aged dough trough.

Sweets for the sweet?

Kitchen island barstools:

Pantry door wreath.

The Christmas tree.

With presents...and a skirt. 😅

A closeup of the chair next to the tree with a cute little bag full of goodies.

Even the backyard fireplace has gotten into the act!

This fireplace was hand-built by yours truly just recently, and I am so glad it was completed just in time for Christmas!!  You can read about the build of this fireplace in the archives of my blog here.

I hope you have enjoyed this post.  If you would like to see the complete details including closeups of the ornaments, tree, and other spaces I have decorated in the house, please see the video via my YouTube channel below.  Please be sure you are viewing this post in full website mode, or the link to the video may not appear.

Thank you so much for your visit!  Take care!
