Wow, it seems the year has practically flown by! I cannot believe it is officially Summer again! Summertime is the consummate time for backyard barbecues, family gatherings, and picnics! Such fun! We are a few short days away from celebrating our beautiful country's independence, so for today's tablescape, I hope to incorporate some of the fun elements of the summertime season. I hope you enjoy the post.
I began in the middle of my backyard with my little bistro table and chairs, free of linen.
I wanted this tablescape to be indicative of a picnic, so for the centerpiece, I added a red soft woven basket next,
and filled it with red, white, and blue blooms.
My navy blue chargers came next,
followed by clean white plates.
Closer look.
Nothing says backyard barbecue, Summer, or picnic quite like red and white gingham! I adore these plates......they look like paper plates, but they are actually a very thick, sturdy melamine.
A closer view. So fun!
Next, I placed navy napkins folded in fourths,
and crisp white napkins adorned with whimsical bicycle napkin holders.
Aren't these cute? I love bike riding whenever I get the chance! Such a great activity during the summer for the whole family!
Finally, I placed simple blue flutes at each setting,
and for a bit of patriotic flair, bows with the Stars and Stripes on the backs of each chair!
Here is the completed tablescape. No flatware needed! :)
Summer is all about wonderful comfort food you eat with your hands if you are like me!
A few more......
Here are a couple of up-close shots of the setting.

DeleteI am taking my hips straight to Stein Mart tomorrow to see if I can find some of those incredibly cute penny-farthing napkin rings! They are just TOO CUTE!!!!!! I have a tablescape in mind for which they would be perfect! I have a collection of penny-farthings, and those napkin rings would be a great addition! Wow...Stein Mart! They have such cool stuff! They moved the one that was somewhat close to our house, so now I have to drive about 35 minutes to get to one. I'll do it. Totally worth it if those are there!!!
ReplyDeleteFUN tablescape! Perfect for this hot summer weather. And I love it that you omitted flatware! Burgers, chips and watermelon wedges only need our mitts for grubbin'! :-)
Thank you, Alycia! Yes, I found those at Steinmart, and I don't think that's the reason I went in. They were so cute, I went to two stores just to get a full set. Happy shopping, I hope you'll find them...I think it was like two months ago when I purchased them, so you may get lucky! Thanks for stopping by! ❤❤
