5 Ways To Change Your Décor in Minutes for Halloween

Hello, friends!  Thank you so much for stopping by my blog!

Are you super-busy like me and sometimes are absolutely down-to-the-wire when decorating for a specific holiday?  Well, today I would love to share with you a few quick ways I changed up my décor for Halloween this year, lickety-split!

1.  Change your floral arrangements. I find the easiest way to add seasonal charm is to add spooky elements to my existing floral arrangements.  I try to change the arrangements to match whichever color theme I am utilizing that year.

2.  Change your linens.  If you are a tablecloth kind of guy or gal like me, a simple way to update your décor for Halloween is to add cute or kitschy linen with a Halloween motif.  Here in my entryway, I have changed out my blues for purple and black, the colors I am using this year.

I began by setting a solid base linen,

then I added a fun overlay linen with a Halloween motif.

You can also change out your pillows.  Store away those everyday pillows and toss your chairs, sofas, and love seats with themed pillows.  So simple, and so quick!

Add embellishments.  Another easy and super cute way upgrade your décor is to add a bit of kitsch.  Here, I’ve added a lacy batty element to the curved arch of my bench.

I also covered the lampshades throughout the house with spooky lampshade covers:

3.  Add coordinating lighting.  You can add super inexpensive lighting such as these mini-colored lights

or change out your lamps with a coordinating-colored bulb like this one.  Both of these were found at The 99¢ Store

A black mini Halloween tree with purple mini lights

For a more elaborate update of lighting, I use these Halloween lanterns.  They are remote controlled.  I was lucky enough to find these at a local Savers years ago, but I think there are similar options on QVC or Amazon. I adore them and have used them every year since.

They have the option of setting time-blocks, one specific color, interchanging colors, and brightness.

4.  Make a simple wreath in coordinating colors.  A wreath with florals, mesh, and ribbons is super easy to put together, and costs next to nothing to make!  The forms can be purchased at The Dollar Tree, and there are always an abundance of mesh, florals, and ribbons available at The 99¢ Store as well as The Dollar Tree.   There are tons of tutorials available on YouTube with different methods of mesh wreath making.

Here, I have given you an example of each.  On this wreath, there is mesh, floral, and ribbon.  You can create a wreath in any combination of these elements.  This one took less than 5 minutes to make!

5.  Set the table with a coordinating theme.  Admittedly, this last tip is a bit more time-consuming, but setting a pretty table shouldn’t take longer than twenty minutes or so, and even less if you already have an idea of what you would like to use ahead of time.

Thank you so much for stopping by, and happy haunting!

Until next we speak,
