Magazine Monday #5

Hello, there!  Thank you so much for stopping in to visit today.  I hope all is well!  Seems the drought here in Southern California is steadfast....hoping there will be rain soon!  Welcome to this week's Magazine Monday.

I have always described my design aesthetic as European-hodgepodge or European-eclectic.  What that means to me is I love the juxtaposition of old world elements from Spain, France, and England with modern flair.  Today I am discussing two of my favorite designers/design houses that I feel perfectly reflect these elements.  I hope you enjoy!!

One of my favorite designers who is just brilliant at combining European elements is Pamela Pierce.  As a matter of fact, my first Magazine Monday post discussed her fairly new publication, Milieu Magazine, which definitely showcases this style.

Below are two pictures featured in Veranda Magazine 2013, which is when I fell in love with her point of view.  To see the slideshow on the Veranda website, simply click the picture to be redirected.

Talk about curb appeal!  Combining classic elements of a French Chateau with a fine English garden makes this sublime!

Gorgeous, soft elements of her guest room.  The Napoleon III tufted beds combined with 18th c. Venetian elements take my breath away!

Design duo Mona Thompson and Talena Ray of Providence Design also combine beautiful elements of rustic and refined, as reflected in the Better Homes and Gardens 2015 Spring/Summer Issue of Tuscan Style in the article Right Sized.

To be directed to their design website, click above or here.  The portfolio is fabulous!  They even write a wonderful blog full of beautiful inspiration.  Clearly, we share the same design aesthetic and use Pinterest for wonderful inspiration!  In one of their most recent posts, I recognize immediately some of the spaces I repinned a while back on my European Dream House board on Pinterest!  These are also some of my most repinned pins on that board!  You may view my board by clicking here.

There is no slideshow for the article, but for information about the Tuscan Style publication, click on any of the photos.

I love the rustic stone elements here, and especially the soft French Grey on the cabinetry!

The fantastic ceiling takes things to a whole new level!  A 19th century stone relic from a European church looks perfect with the cast-stone fireplace.

How beautiful are these antique French doors?  Just gorgeous!!

What is your design aesthetic?

  5. I do love that style also. Mine is English cottage/Parisian vintage-castle. You can't go wrong with quality and anything tufted!
