Set Your Table With Flair--Spring Tea

Hello, friends....welcome, and thank you for visiting!

Ok, so the secret is out....if you have seen any of my previous posts, by now you realize I am a bit of an Anglophile.  I love the idea of old(e) English traditions, and one of my favorites is to take tea.  The tradition of English tea (meaning as a meal) has been around since the 1600s, when it was introduced by Charles II of England's wife Catherine.

The corner of my backyard is one of my favorite places to be.  In this small corner, the hubby and I decided to plant grapevines which bear beautiful fruit in the summer.  This winter has not been as harsh as some previous have been, thank goodness, and finally, I have some full foliage on my vines.  I decided it would be a lovely place to set up.  I hope you enjoy this post.

This setting is really rather simple.  I wanted colors that were indicative of Spring, and for me pastels are perfect.  I mixed china, tea service, and added them all to my little tea cart I picked up in a antique shop a couple of years ago.

In these three pictures, I am featuring a faux floral arrangement (tutorial here) along with my handmade tea sachets in pastel colors (tutorial here).   Using a faux arrangement sometimes works in a pinch if fresh are out of season, or if you want a more inexpensive option.

However, if fresh is more your taste, you may like to use a fresh arrangement instead (tutorial here).

Isn't this charming? I love roses mixed with delicate baby's breath!

A few more...

This sweet Spring palette of fresh color could also be used for a Mother's Day brunch as well!
