Magazine Monday

Hello, friends!  Thank you for stopping in to visit my blog!  Where do you find inspiration?  I can tell you, I personally find inspiration from lots of varying places.  Music, magazines, books, nature, et cetera, can be a rich source of inspiration for me.  I have decided to try something new here on the blog.  Mondays, I will feature an inspiration-only post from the pages of magazines to which I personally subscribe or those that I have purchased or read via the Internet.  It will likely be sporadic at first, but if I find it to be successful, I intend to make these posts weekly.  I hope you enjoy, and I definitely appreciate feedback.  I also would like to mention that I have never been paid for any post or content, and to date, my only source of revenue is through Google Adsense (I hope to one day rectify that, lol).  If a post is sponsored, I will be sure to disclose.

A couple of weeks ago, as I was on a quick grocery shopping excursion one afternoon, I moseyed over to the magazine section.  I happened upon a publication I had never seen before entitled 'Milieu." Have you heard of it before?  It is the brainchild of Houston-based interior designer Pamela Pierce.  It's a fairly new publication; the first issue was published in Fall of 2013.  I was immediately drawn in to the glossy pages, just as I am with other magazines such as Luxe, House Beautiful, Dwell, and Veranda, all of which to I subscribe or read intermittently.  What I found interesting about this particular magazine was that although it is a fairly new publication, it is definitely comparable to any of the aforementioned, and has a way of interjecting tidbits of fashion along with fabulous décor.

The magazine is chock-full of beautiful photographs featuring elegant and art-infused traditional and transitional spaces, which speaks directly to not only my design aesthetic, but to my heart as well!  Even the ads are beautiful; rich antiques, fabulous European reproductions, gorgeous textiles, sprinkled with a smattering of wonderful modern finds.  Here are a few of my favorites from the Winter 2015 issue.  To view these images via their website, you must be a subscriber, but it is well worth it!  I hope you enjoy these as much as I did!

I am obsessed with this rustic kitchen!  A pair of antique Louis XV doors (c. 1760) on the pantry,

and the absolutely fabulous sink from France's Dordogne region had me swooning!

How beautiful is the light in this space!?  I love the casualness of the linen chairs combined with upscale Louis XVI-style chairs.

The same house also features a beautiful solarium in which an eighteenth-century Italian settee combines sublimely with a pair of Louis XV chandeliers.

Here are a few sites I found by perusing the issue:

I love this space!  Chateau Domingue Antiques.

Fabulous garden pots cast from estate originals,

Pennoyer Newman

This is just lovely.  Joyce Horn Antiques.

I hope you are finally thawing out, and if not, please stay warm!
