Hello, all! I hope you are will wherever you dwell. The past month of January has practically zoomed by and it is once again time to celebrate the day for lovers. I cannot believe it is almost Valentine's Day once more!! This year, my heart craves a bit of levity, so I have decided to decorate the home with an Alice in Wonderland (and Queen of Hearts) theme. Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland was one of my favorite books when I was little. I especially adored the Walt Disney animated adaptation, and it remains my favorite Disney film to this day. This theme is certainly kitsch, but I think such fun!
When you enter the home, you will note that I have changed the foyer table linen to a wonderful red damask. The flower arrangements have been reconfigured to represent the day of romance, which means lots and lots of red blooms!
I have added florals to the sconces that don the entry as well.
I have also changed out all of the pillows in the foyer.
I have added covers with an assortment of fun patterns.
Left.
There are queen of hearts,
a smartly dressed white rabbit,
a confuddled Alice,
keys, cards, and Mad Hatter hats,
and blue and white harlequin
(indicative of the dress and pinafore Alice wears).
Further into the house, I have changed the reading chair pillow slipcover and placed this adorable cover with a literary motif. I love the blue and white, and the books pay homage to since this theme is based on one of my favorite publications.

More red flowers don the arrangement right by the garage door.

A bit of romance was also added to the arrangement on the piano.
As you continue into the house, you will see my tree that has also got into the act!
Red roses (WHOOOOO's BEEN PAINTING MY ROSES RED???!!!),
clocks (I'm late, I'm late!),
red hearts,
(closeup)
bounding white rabbits,
(hello, friend)
blue ribbons,
black and white harlequin ribbon,
and signage pointing everywhere,
all add to the whimsical feeling I wanted to portray.
Signs pointing this way and that are a perfect way to lend to this topsy-turvy aesthetic.
Enormous cards depicting Carroll's whimsical characters don the tree here and there.
The Mad Hatter.
The Red Queen.
The Cheshire Cat.
Alice.
Lastly is the White Rabbit prominently featured at the top of the tree.
He seems ready to make announcements!
I have added a daft top hat with white rabbit ears as a tree topper to complete this fun tree.
Closer look.
More signage to confuse.
Completed tree.
Rear view looking into foyer.
Another peek.
Details.
The final areas I decorated were the seating areas in the living room.
On the couch, I have changed out the slipcovers.
There is a clockface patterned
and macabre one on each side of the couch letting you know you may want to proceed with caution, lol.
I have also changed out the floral arrangement.
At the sitting/reading area, I have added queenly slipcovers as well to tie in the theme.

Right.
I also set up a tea table al fresco to coordinate. If you would like to read about it, you may visit the post in my archives by clicking here.
Happiest Valentine's Day, everyone!
Until we see one another again,
