Set Your Table With Flair--A Shoreside Teatime for Afternoon Tea Week

Hello lovely people in the bloggerverse and beyond!  How are you faring this extraordinarily hot Summer?  We are enduring weeks upon weeks of triple digits here, so it has been quite unrelenting!  

Exceedingly hot temperatures make me long for a cool-down, or a reprieve from the excessive heat.  The perfect way to achieve this is a refreshing teatime.  

Since Afternoon Tea Week commences this week from August 10 through August 16, I wanted to set an atypical tea table that not only exemplifies the summertime, but I wanted to set a table for two perfectly fit for a relaxing reverie waterside.  I hope you enjoy the post!

First, I set a couple of beach chaise lounge chairs shoreside.  Aren't these fun?!

A small table with simple linen

makes for the perfect foundation for beautiful leaded crystal vase.

I love the detail of this vase, and I especially admire its heft.  It is quite heavy!

I filled the vase with a bouquet of fresh-clipped flowers from my garden paired with local grocer roses.  My hydrangeas and plumbago showed well this year, I was so glad I could use them to make this arrangement!

The plate stack consists of minty dessert plates with lovely gold gilding, paired with dainty saucers

and simple glass teacups.  Gold demitasse/cocktail flatware coordinates quite nicely with the gilding on the plates.

I also added pedestals galore.

A mint teapot on one of the mini pedestal plates sits in wait for pre-steeped pours,

while a gorgeous crystal bowl holds pretty ice orbs to cool the tea.

For a sweet little nosh, I have made some mini-cakes with a decidedly nautical/preppy flair.  They are placed on a coordinating pedestal.

On the menu for tea is a choice between two tisanes, hibiscus and butterfly pea flower, shown here on another of the mini pedestal plates.

Either of these pair beautifully with the aforementioned ice spheres that I infused with key limes right from my garden (no, these are not pickles...lol).  To see how I made these lime-infused ice orbs, please visit the post here.

Set Your Table With Flair--Tea Under a Canopy of Romance for National Tea Day

Hello, all, and welcome to my blog!  Thank you for popping in to spend a few moments.  

Won't you join me for tea?   I welcome you to sit under a canopy of roses, growing over the new trellising arbor I put up recently.

Creamy white whipstitch cups play nicely

with elegant gold-rimmed saucers, matching whipstitch plates, and gold demitasse (cocktail) flatware.

Though not from the same collection, a simple white creamer also compliments.

A checkered pot is perfect for pretty pours,

while two stands make for seamless service.

Set Your Table With Flair—Tea for Two and Two for Tea for National Tea Day

Two for tea and tea for two...

Hello, lovelies in the bloggerverse and beyond!  I hope you and yours are well.

Today, I am sharing a simple Spring-infused tablesetting for tea in honor of National Tea Day, or British Tea Day, which is today.  

I have always loved this tiny little corner in my garden, especially when the grape vines become lush during the Spring and Summer!  I recently decided to position the garden statue I have had for several years now more prominently in the area.  Last year, I added a trellis over the statue, and thus far this year, the vines have taken to it quite nicely.  This became a perfect setting to sit down for a cuppa between two.

If you look very closely, you see signs of the wonderful fruit I will enjoy come this Summer.

For this setting, I wanted soft colors indicative of Spring (Summer, please do not come just yet...the weather has been sublime!!).

The setting began with an uncomplicated white linen topper,

followed by a basketful of pretty petals from the local grocer.

So sweet!!

The setting consisted of a stack of pale blue fleur-de-lis and paired with some of transparent celadon green,

perfectly pink cups with delicate gold accents, a scalloped white saucer,

and complimentary gold flatware.

The teapot I used is this gorgeous pot depicting a recreation of Vincent Van Gogh's Vase With Pink Roses from 1890.  It plays quite nicely with the setting.

On either side of the table, I've placed some pretty pastel treats on little blue tiered stands.  Jordan almonds and delicate meringues make for the perfect sweet treat.

I recently shared in this post that I have planted a gorgeous white climbing rose at the entrance of my vegetable and fruit garden from Heirloom Roses.   They are coming up so beautifully!  Perhaps by this time next year, I will be able to use flowers solely from my garden in the setting!
