Set Your Table With Flair—A Spring-Infused Easter Setting

 

Hello, friends and welcome to my blog.  This Sunday is Easter Sunday, so in honor of this forthcoming holiday, I thought I would share a simple and sweet table setting fit for the occasion.  I hope you enjoy the post!

I wanted this Easter tablescape to be cheerful and infused with Spring elements.  I began the setting with a sparkly table topper and I added these wonderful plaid chargers in pretty pastels perfect for season.

I followed the chargers with this lovely patterned plate with a gorgeous blue rim and dainty blossoms.  I also added French-style watering cans with sweet little blooms at either side of the table.

The accompanying salad plate and teacup and saucer were added along with gold flatware and iridescent flutes to complete the place setting.

A rustic blue basket full of vibrant Spring blooms was added as an additional centerpiece.

The bright and cheerful blossoms pick up the pattern in the plates quite nicely, whilst the basket matches the rims and watering cans.

 I love how the flutes reflect light and cast off so many colors!

Christmas at Greystone Manor

Hello, friends!  I hope this post finds you relaxing and enjoying the winter. 

A couple of years ago, my family and I went on a tour of the gorgeous Greystone Mansion in Los Angeles.  They host tours year-round, including tours at Christmastime during which the fabulous estate is decorated by local designers as well as their own in-house.  Although Christmas is gone, if you love historic homes, you might enjoy this tour. 

The fabulous 18-acre estate took three years to complete, and cost over 3 million to build, which in 1927, was an astronomical cost!  You can learn about the estate on its page here.

We truly enjoyed meandering through the gardens and rooms of the vast property.  Here are some of the shots I took.

Fabulous vaulted ceiling with ornate woodwork and a gorgeous chandy.

Love these beautiful windows and all the detail of the panelling.  This was a sun-drenched nook in one of the many bedrooms.  I do love winters in Southern California!

Isn't this a gorgeous tree!!?  Proof positive that a tree can still be stunning yet simple.  A tree that pretty needs little to no emblishments; the tree shines in its own right.

To be honest, it was quite crowded, so it was difficult to snap many pictures that were unencumbered by crowds, and I would have loved to see more Christmas-themed rooms, because to be quite frank, they were pretty sparse.  Overall, I think I would definitely tour again.

Set Your Table with Flair--An Upscale Independence Day

Hello bloggy pals and beyond!




How do you celebrate our great nation's independence?  Do you like down-home country casualness, chock full of traditional fare such as BBQ, baked beans, and the like?


Usually at my home, we celebrate in a very casual way.  This year however, I thought, why not go with a more upscale setting which is aesthetically appealing without being too fussy?


Of course, no 4th of July tablescape would be complete without the tradition of red, white, and blue.  To heighten this year's setting, I chose to use a mix of patterns, including some of my favorite red transferware.  Mixing the patterns adds a little whimsy to the setting while not depleting the sophistication classic transferware brings.  I adore these little striped navy and white plates!

pair perfectly with an upscale tureen filled with casual bougainvillea clipped fresh from the garden.

I added a combination of napkins in red, white, and blue adorned with a small bit of ribbon, and silver flatware completes the setting.
