And I'm proud to be an American,
Where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died,
Who gave that right to me.
And I gladly stand up next to you,
And defend her still today--.
'Cause there ain't no doubt,
I love this land!
God Bless the USA!!

I love Lee Greenwood's song "God Bless the U.S.A.", I always have this CD in my car. I will turn it up and sing right along with the lyrics and I don't care who sees or hears me. Your memorial day table looks ready for celebrating the stars and stripes.
ReplyDeleteI love it too! Thank you for popping in!
DeleteWhat a great table....and I love how you showed it from the ground up. It's perfect for the upcoming holiday!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Christine! ❤❤

ReplyDeleteJenna
Thank you so much, Jenna! I love that song, even writing the post made my eyes misty....I thought it was so fitting. ❤❤
DeleteGreat reminder to everyone that this day off is time to reflect on those that paid the ultimate price. I live within walking distance of marine base and see new recruits all the time, people do respect them. I bought a small Marine and a MIA-POW flag, that I thought might be to much for a centerpiece, but will use them now with American flags. Thanks for your beautiful setting.

I agree completely, Wanda. :)

LOVE that Lee Greenwood song! I have it on my playlist. That, Springsteen's "Born in the U.S.A.", Neil Diamond's "Coming to America", and Whitney Houston's rendition of the national anthem will all be seeing some serious play over the weekend!
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat way to take us through your step-by-step! Your table looks great...really patriotic feel! The napkins are great...and great to have 2 when you're eating messy barbeque!!!
I hope you have a wonderful and very safe holiday weekend. Take care of yourself, and thanks for remembering our troops in such a creative way.
Wow!!! I forgot how much I love that Neil Diamond song!!❤❤❤. Have to YouTube it immediately! You are sooo right. One in the lap, one for the lip! :)
